November Newsletter

So much has been happening over the months with the Soundwaves project that the news pages are well overdue an update.

The number of artists and bands who have now participated is forever increasing and a huge thanks goes out to them and their management companies, tour managers, promoters etc. who have enabled this to happen.

This summer thanks to 'Live Nation' http://www.livenation.co.uk/  Soundwaves were able to attend events at London's Hyde Park and recruit the services of amongst others the Clash's Mick Jones, as well as arranging the Soundwave signing with KT Tunstall and a the same time enjoying a hugely entertaining set by The Stranglers.  All of these 3 now have Soundwaves available to buy on the Gallery pages.

It was with great sadness in September that Richard Wright of Pink Floyd passed away after a short struggle with cancer. A tremendously talented musician who was both liked and admired hugely.

Throughout the Summer/ Autumn period Soundwaves have been very fortunate to have increased it's portfolio of artists with George Michael, Dido, Jamie Cullum, Joan Armatrading, Snow Patrol, Mark Knopfler, Status Quo, Sharleen Spiteri and Westlife all having now taken part. What's more encouraging is that the musicans genuinely love the artwork that has been produced. They all agree on which songs are to be used and often have an input into colours they prefer. Just a reminder - all Soundwaves produced are from the actual songs they are accredited to.

Regretably now the Coldplay and Pink Floyd prints have sold out, with many being purchased by people involved within the music industry. However we are delighted to say that Pink Floyd's Nick Mason has kindly done his own Soundwaves that will be added to the Gallery pages shortly.

Soundwaves continues to find new bands and artists who generously help with the project by taking part. Soundwaves are not only sold through this website but Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy auction Soundwaves at their various events. This has included £10,000 being received recently for a Pink Floyd canvas and £20,000 for two Snow Patrol canvases.

Thank you for looking at the site and please keep coming back to see who has been added to the Soundwaves Gallery.
